    Keep your word. Trust is everything!

    When you meet someone at a Networking event or any where else for that matter, it is imperative that you are honest and real. Don’t market yourself as someone you are not. Only promote and promise what you can deliver. This is relevant for all your marketing material and advertising too, if a client doesn’t feel that you are who you say you are, they will run a mile!

    At a rough guess how many new people and potential clients do you meet or speak with each month? Could be 100”s if you count all the social media contacts! Sometimes these encounters are brief and during the conversation one party might say they are going to get do something for the other party eg follow up a lead, or give them a referral etc.  

    It is really easy to forget little things like this, especially if you have chatted with many others that day. So,if you say you are going to call, do something, refer someone then make sure you do it! If someone has said they will do something for you and you don’t hear from them in a few days times, then follow that up yourself and hold no judgement they may have just forgotten!

    At the end of the day, no matter where you are or who you are dealing with , trust is imperative to build strong relationships, attract clients and retain clients and receive referrals. So be honest, be you and don’t gossip!
