  • NetConnect Huge Success!

Well everyone that attended the NetConnect Seminar last week at Mooloolaba certainly had fun, made some new friends and learnt a few things, myself included!

The NetConnect seminars have been created to provide a unique platform that combines networking, business education and information and pleasure all in the one event.

Entertained by our captivating Emcee, Genine Howard from Profile Magazine, we experienced dynamic speakers providing the latest tips, tools and strategies that are absolutely essential for creating business growth and success. These seminars are targeted at Women in Small Business who are willing to learn how to embrace changing trends, emerging technology and leading edge marketing ideas.

Krishna Everson from Healthy Marketing shared some great insights into the processes required to get all the creative ideas that are buzzing around like  butterflys in jar and direct them into a clear and focused marketing blue print.  Krishna entertained us with a great slide show that demonstrated the process from creative ideas, confusion and chaos to a concise, clear and tidy marketing plan unique to our business model.

Jeanne Treloar from Witch Words then reinforced Krishna’s message when she explained how important it is to be clear on your business model and marketing plan before you start to talk branding.  Jeanne explained the detailed, creative and very important role that branding plays in demonstrating to the world who you are and what you do. Branding is not just a logo it is about you and how you make that clear to the world!

Surrounded by over 60 fabulous, inspirational women in business, and observing the easy and natural manner in which these gorgeous women connected with each other was humbling to say the least.

Many were “facebook friends” and were meeting for the first time, others were friends of friends and some were even clients  or colleagues that had never met.

The power of social media, as demonstrated by Lisa Harrison from Pomo Creative,  has meant we are all experiencing cyber connections that are making our real life connections even easier. Whether we have embraced Social media or not, Lisa has given us plenty of food for thought and the realisation that we had better get over our fear of facebook fast! or get left behind.

As the evening drew to a close I(Natalie McIvor)  shared my tips to ensure that  networking experiences were more enjoyable than the first few times I ventured into the scary world of Networking.

If you think Networking is about throwing your cards on the table, racing around the room meeting everyone and flogging your stuff, then you have got it wrong.  Effective networking is about connections, contribution and co operation.  That is what I like to call “Authentic Networking”.

To ensure the event was not all about business, there was plenty of time to meet and mingle and enjoy all the great products and services on display in our exhibitors area.  Network members, Carren Smith from Quantum Leadership Group, Kim Morrison and Fleur Whelligan (standing in for Ceinie Grudnoff) from Like Chocolate for Women, Debbie Bozicevic-Mewes from Universal Goddess and Shelley Love from Forever Green and Karen Perttula from Lakeshore finance, presented great trade booths and were overwhelmed with the response from our guests.

There were goddess goodie bags, generous lucky door prizes and much laughter to be had. Much gratitude to all involved in creating such a successful event and thanks to all our generous sponsors and supporters.

All in all this was one of the most successful and satisfying events I have ever held and I look forward to the next one.

Who will join us at the next NetConnect Seminar?
